The way to success

Host:Brandon Li

How many difficulties have you come across so far in your life? How did you overcome them? Giving up, evading responsibility or standing still like a fool and feeling depressed?

In 1948, President Churchill was once invited to the University of Oxford to give a speech. The topic is “The way to success”. Students, professors, media were packed in the hall, silently expectantly waiting for his arrival. The short old man arrived, and walked briskly amidst the audiences’ applause. He got on the stage, and, after alight cough, shared his valuable experience, ‘Never give in. Never give in. Never, never, never, never–in nothing, great or small, large or petty–never give in, except to convictions of honor and good sense. Never yield to force. Never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.’ He finished and walked down from the platform and left the hall. Moments of silence reigned, rapturous applause followed.

True, from this 30 second long speech, the way to success is well clarified. Get over the obstacles and never give in. And you will see the flag of success right in front of you.
